We're looking for compassionate and professional individuals who are passionate about making a real difference in suicide prevention, loss support, and mental health within our community.

At Suicide Prevention Services of America, we are driven by a sincere mission: to open minds, save lives, and restore hope through suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. Rooted in our core values of compassion, integrity, inclusivity, authenticity, curiosity, and professionalism, we strive to make a positive impact on suicide prevention, suicide survivors of loss support, and mental health within our community.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide compassionate and professional leadership by guiding our strategic direction with integrity and empathy.
    • Engage actively in our monthly board meetings and committee work, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued in our decision-making process.
    • Support our fundraising initiatives and community outreach efforts to ensure the success of our programs and services.
    • Advocate for suicide prevention awareness and mental health education initiatives, both within our community and beyond.
    • Make a commitment to actively participate in and support our main fundraising events: Here for Life Walk in September, Harvest of Hope Brunch in November, and Run for Life 5k in late spring.

    Qualifications:

    • A genuine commitment to our mission and values, including compassion, integrity, inclusivity, authenticity, curiosity, and professionalism.
    • While having prior experience on a board or in leadership roles is helpful, it's not a requirement. We openly invite individuals from diverse backgrounds to apply, including those with backgrounds in areas like law, accounting, business, nonprofit management, mental health, and marketing

. * Willingness to dedicate time and effort to board-related activities and responsibilities, including attending meetings and events.

If you're ready to lend your passion and professionalism to the cause of suicide prevention and mental health, we'd love to welcome you to our team of dedicated board members. To apply, please submit your resume to stephanied@spsamerica.org. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Together, we can work towards a future where every individual feels supported, valued, and connected.
