June 23, 2022 (Batavia, IL) -At their meeting on Tuesday, June 21, Superintendent Dr. Lisa Hichens informed the BPS101 Board of Education that she would retire as superintendent at the end of the 2022-23 school year after 26 years of service as an educator. The 2022-23 school year will be her 22nd year of service in BPS101. “It has been an honor and privilege to serve this community,” Dr. Hichens said. “I am looking forward to the upcoming school year and optimistic about the future of the District.”Dr.

Batavia MainStreet is thrilled to announce the return of the Batavia Dinner Table after a two-year hiatus. This will be the fifth annual Batavia Dinner Table starting at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 on Downtown Batavia’s North River Street Woonerf.
