Thursday, February 25, 2021Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity Launches $6 Million Funding Campaign for Veteran Housing
Chicago, IL -- Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity (FVHFH) announced its plan to break ground on a sustainable community for veterans its publicist announced today. The Yorkville, IL project called Operation Home America, seeks to raise $6 million by June 15, 2021. Funds will be used to develop and zone land for permanent, full-equity, affordable single-family and duplex homes on 50 acres. BATAVIA, IL – Due to the uncertainty we continue to face through the pandemic, Batavia United Way has adjusted the annual Soup Tasting fundraising event to a slightly different, but equally satisfying, Soup Sampler Home Pack for curbside pick-up. Each order includes a variety of nine, 6 oz. unique soups from local restaurants ready to heat and enjoy. Also included is a bistro salad, bread, utensils, and napkins. BATAVIA, IL – Lights on Ekman went above and beyond during the pandemic spreading joy to families near and far. The Batavia family spent immeasurable hours creating light shows in their yard, adding a Quarantine Edition last April and a Halloween show last October, along with the yearly Christmas show. In addition to making the nights brighter, the fundraising efforts by the Foy family helped raise$4,386 for the Batavia Mothers’ Club Foundation. Batavia Chamber member Michelle ‘Mike’ Burke named Ambassador of the Year; all will be honored at the Inspire 2021 event in May.
