The holidays are upon us, and Talk of the Town Toastmasters knows how to CELEBRATE!
Each meeting has a different theme. However, this week it's less of a theme than an experience:our White Elephant Holiday Party!
You're still invited, even though we will not be following our typical agenda. There will be plenty to eat and drink and give all around. The "White Elephants" are wrapped (re-)gifts that are looking for a new home, and when a gift is chosen, the picker gets to tell a story about it for 1-2 minutes.
When will you be called upon to do a presentation in a real world scenario? A toast at a wedding? Saying something at a graduation? Being asked to stand up and say a few words at the spur of the moment? Maybe your boss asks you, at the last minute, to do a presentation, because the other person was not available, sick, etc.
If you want to reduce your nervousness in front of a crowd, to gain confidence when speaking, or even to refine already-strong speaking skills, Talk of the Town Toastmasters is the right place for you. The added bonus? Our club gives you great opportunities to develop and refine leadership skills. Come join us for a free meeting or two.
Please plan to arrive at your first meeting about ten minutes early so we can greet you, meet you, and answer your questions. We look forward to seeing you!
Talk of the Town Toastmasters was established in 2009 to bring Toastmasters International to Batavia, Illinois. Our club is made up of a great group of people who are each committed to becoming better public speakers and more effective leaders. About 20 members and guests -- who come from all walks of life -- attend each weekly meeting.Tell a Friend

I am so thankful that a few of my fellow Batavian’s recommended the Batavia Chamber of Commerce to me. Since I joined I feel as though I have been blessed with a second family with all the support and motivation I get from them on a regular basis. Margaret, Patti and Shirley are the most amazing women. They have great passion for business and helping people. I truly feel they care about my business on a personal level and want to see it grow and succeed as much as I do! They have gone the extra mile to get my name and my business name out there and introduce me to the business community. The Chamber has so many opportunities available that have helped my business both grow and problem solve such as the free monthly Networking It events. I highly recommend the Batavia Chamber of Commerce to all business professionals.
