Description
“The 50th Anniversary Show” opens July 13 at the Norris Cultural Arts Center in St. Charles. The show celebrates the 10th anniversary of Water Street Studios in Batavia and the 40th anniversary of Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles. Work by artists and instructors will be on display through August 21. A public reception for the artists will be held in the Norris Cultural Arts Center on Sunday, July 21 from 2 – 4 pm. The Norris Cultural Arts Center is located on the campus of St. Charles East High School at 1040 Dunham Road, St. Charles. Fine Line Creative Arts Center of St. Charles supports artists and the larger community through instruction, exploration, and exhibition of traditional and innovative arts and crafts, its mission enriched by a natural and inspirational setting. Fine Line Creative Arts Center has been serving the community and encouraging everyone to explore the arts for 40 years.
Fine Line offers classes in weaving and textiles, painting and drawing, glass and metals, ceramics, surface design, printmaking, and photography. Guest artists present workshops throughout the year. The two galleries on campus are open Monday – Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm, and an outdoor sculpture show is installed on campus and throughout the prairie through October. 2019 also marks the expansion of the metals and glass studios as well as the addition of a glass blowing studio to increase course offerings and workshop opportunities. Water Street Studios is a 501(c) 3 for-purpose art center located in downtown Batavia, Illinois. Their mission is to help make the arts more accessible to the Fox Valley region and beyond.
