Marklund's annual Top Hat Ball will set sail Saturday, Jan. 31, as it takes guests on "An Evening Along The Nile" celebrating the history and culture of ancient Egypt as it raises funds for the care of children and adults with developmental disabilities. This year's black tie dinner/dance/auction, the organization's19th annual, will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Chicago Marriott Downtown, at 540 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago. With the majesty and mysteries of King Tut and Cleopatra leading the way, and featuring distinctive silent and live auction items, sit-down dinner, and live entertainment, this year's Top Hat Ball is certain to follow its tradition of being one of Chicagoland's premier fundraising events of the season. Tickets to the Top Hat Ball are $350 per person. Various sponsorship and group packages are available. As Marklund's major fundraiser of the year, proceeds are used to help its vision of making everyday life possible for individuals with profound disabilities. To register, visit www.marklund.org/tophatball or contact Jeannine Zupo, director of special events at jzupo@marklund.org or 630-593-5445.

I am so thankful that a few of my fellow Batavian’s recommended the Batavia Chamber of Commerce to me. Since I joined I feel as though I have been blessed with a second family with all the support and motivation I get from them on a regular basis. Margaret, Patti and Shirley are the most amazing women. They have great passion for business and helping people. I truly feel they care about my business on a personal level and want to see it grow and succeed as much as I do! They have gone the extra mile to get my name and my business name out there and introduce me to the business community. The Chamber has so many opportunities available that have helped my business both grow and problem solve such as the free monthly Networking It events. I highly recommend the Batavia Chamber of Commerce to all business professionals.
