The Fox Valley Academy and Philharmonic will perform its annual American Pops Summer Symphony Concert at 4:30pm on Sunday, June 28th at the Peg Bond Pavilion in Batavia, Illinois. The Philharmonic welcomes back the mayors of Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, and St. Charles to conduct the American classic, Stars and Stripes Forever. Residents of all Fox Valley towns are encouraged to attend the concert and cast their votes for their favorite Fox Valley mayor. The winner takes home the coveted "Golden Baton Award". The concert will include other favorites, such as Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" (to be performed with real cannons), Copland's "Hoe Down", and Morton Gould's "Variations on When Johnny Comes Marching Home". The performance will also include a medley of the Armed Forces Service tunes in which the Philharmonic invites veterans, and family members in the audience to stand and be recognized for proudly serving our country. As an added bonus, the Fox Valley Academy's ensembles will also present a "Pre-Concert" performance of American folk tunes at 4:00pm in the Pavilion. The Academy and Philharmonic invite the audience to bring a picnic dinner or enjoy Aliano's pizza, light refreshments and water available for purchase to support the Academy's ensembles and outreach education programs. The Peg Bond Pavilion is located at 151 North Island Avenue in Batavia. There is plenty of open space to bring lawn chairs or a blanket. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed. I am so thankful that a few of my fellow Batavian’s recommended the Batavia Chamber of Commerce to me. Since I joined I feel as though I have been blessed with a second family with all the support and motivation I get from them on a regular basis. Margaret, Patti and Shirley are the most amazing women. They have great passion for business and helping people. I truly feel they care about my business on a personal level and want to see it grow and succeed as much as I do! They have gone the extra mile to get my name and my business name out there and introduce me to the business community. The Chamber has so many opportunities available that have helped my business both grow and problem solve such as the free monthly Networking It events. I highly recommend the Batavia Chamber of Commerce to all business professionals.
