About Us
Bloom 'n Learn offers private tutoring to students of all ages and abilities. Our out-of-the-home tutoring allows students to concentrate without distraction.
Small-sized classes, including cursive, reading, and writing are offered, as well as art, summer camps, citizen science, and gardening . Karen is a retired teacher with 30+ years of experience teaching elementary children on up to adults. Contact us to learn how we can help you or your child!

View Personal BioMs. Karen Jensen Jensen SmeetsKaren Jensen Smeets is a retired National Board of Professional Teaching Standards Certified Teacher. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership. While teaching at the elementary level, she created an facilitated numerous after-school clubs, such as Young Stars Drama Club, Math and Science Club, Builders' Club, Take-Apart Club, and Games Club. Ms. Jensen Smeets taught parent education classes. She, also, taught early childhood education courses at Waubonsee Community College and Elgin Community College.
"My passion is teaching and learning. It is my mission to teach learners of all ages to love learning. My vision is to do this through strengthening their skills and understanding of concepts through discovery in a condusive environment as a constructivist teacher."
