    Moose Charities is hiring a Development – Database Specialist to work with its team located on the Mooseheart Child City & School campus! Join our team as we work together to provide opportunities for deserving children and a quality life for the seniors in our care.

    Who We Are:
    Moose Charities, Inc. is the philanthropic arm of the Moose Fraternity and raises funds for Mooseheart Child City & School and Moosehaven Senior Living Community. No administrative fees are charged and all funds raised go directly to support the needs of the children and seniors. If you’ve heard of the Moose Lodge, then you’re already familiar with the Moose Fraternity. It’s individuals across the country that belong to various Moose lodges who come together and share the same goal: raise money to benefit Mooseheart, Moosehaven and the local community. As a member of the Moose Charities team, your contributions each day help to keep our fundraising wheel moving like a well-oiled machine!

    GENERAL SUMMARY:
    The Development – Database Specialist will maintain the Raisers Edge donor database and software solutions, play a key role in Moose Charities responding to requests for queries, reports & mailing list.  Responsible for the reporting of fundraising efforts, organize and execute donor acknowledgements and a recognition program.  Demonstrates highly effective verbal and written communication and analytical and computer skills.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Answer phones and greet office visitors.
    • Process donations using Luminate Online/Raisers Edge databases.
    • Process daily gift imports with Import-O-Matic Software solution.
    • Manage donor recognition: prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence.
    • Create monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed.
    • Coordinate programs, such as: School Support programs, matching gifts, workplace giving,
    • Conduct preliminary research for: grants, prospective corporate foundations and individual donors.
    • Maintain charitable state registrations.
    • Ensure website recognition lists are current and updated monthly.
    • Partners with Development Manager to maintain guest lists, gather and prepare registration materials and other duties as assigned for fundraising events.
    • Partners with Development Associate to maintain, modify and ensure the accuracy of the Raisers Edge and Raisers Edge Adjustments.
    • Process returned mail received from Direct Mail Appeals
    • Prepare materials for distribution. (i.e. copying, filing, mailing, e-mailing)
    • Other duties as assigned by the Development Manager or Executive Director of Development.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    • Maintain and manage donor database
    • Proficient in Excel
    • Generate necessary reports
    • Responsible for the accuracy, integrity and cleanliness of the database
    • Assume a leading role in maintaining policies and procedures for entry and reporting that ensures the integrity of the database.
    • Proactively identify opportunities for systems and workflow improvements, recognize potential problems and provide recommendations for solutions.
    • Provide database support and training for staff
    • Produce mailing lists, gift receipts, and donor correspondence on a timely basis.
    • Coordinate Donors Circle recognition program and acknowledgments.
    • Produce donor lists for publications including annual report and website recognition
    • Provides support and backup for the Development Team as necessary
    • Assist with events and projects as needed.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    • 2 years college preferred or database management experience.
    • Minimum two years of experience in Blackbaud Raisers Edge (or similar database) data entry, tracking  and reporting required.
    • Experience with nonprofit organizations a plus
    • Knowledge of the Moose Fraternity a plus
    Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 a year
    Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday
    Full benefits package on the first of the month following date of hire.
