Memory loss doesn't have to be an inevitable part of aging. Education, prevention and early detection can help preserve memory and boost healthy brain function. Dr. Len Lecci will share the latest information and advice for maintaining optimal brain health when he presents The Mystery of the Mind on Thursday, April 28 at 10 a.m. After explaining how memory works, Dr. Lecci will highlight how Alzheimer's and other dementia affect the brain. He'll focus on three factors that contribute to better brain health: diet, exercise and memory function monitoring, and then update guests on the latest treatments and early warning signs. Dr. Lecci is a professor of psychology at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. In 2015, he was appointed to the North Carolina Task Force on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias. He has published extensively, received grant funding from national organizations, briefed Congress, and received numerous teaching awards. Space is limited for this free event.
