Amanda Johnson, a young graduate from the University of Wisconsin, worked at Hull House as a settlement worker. In 1895 Jane Addams, who at that time was garbage inspector for the nineteenth ward, appointed Amanda as her deputy. Together they would wage a fight against prejudice and poverty in Chicago. Join the Batavia Depot Museum staff for their annual Women’s History program.
