Many believe that you have to have a financial background in order to craft a meaningful business strategy (aka strategic plan). This is not true. Every organization should have a business strategy. Think of the business strategy as a roadmap that helps you achieve your long-term business results. We break the strategy into smaller pieces and put action plans around those pieces and move the plan forward one step at a time. Creating a business strategy helps you better understand how to prioritize your time and money and keep your business moving in the right direction.
Please identify what you want to improve in your business, prior to attending the class, and identify what metric you will use to assess whether or not you are being successful. You will actually be working on your strategy in class so bring whatever materials you'd like; financial statements, bank statements, KPIs, whatever will be useful to you during the session.
