As part
of the Batavia-Geneva-St. Charles tri-cities
area, Batavia straddles the Fox River in the
heart of the Fox River Valley.
Interstate highways
are only minutes away. I-88 is five miles to
the south. I-90 is less than 30 minutes north.
Both link the community to the entire metropolitan
market. State routes 25 and 31 run north to south
through the city, following the path of the Fox
River. East-west state routes 38 and 56 are a
short distance away.
There's convenient access
to commuter trains for people who work in Chicago.
Geneva, Batavia's neighbor to the north, and
Aurora to the south, offer full
schedules of Metra commuter trains. PACE offers convenient bus
service between
Batavia and neighboring cities in the Fox River
Valley. And for air travelers, famed O'Hare International
Airport is an easy drive away.
Several
limousine services are readily available in the
Batavia area. Door-to-door Dial-A-Ride service
provides
needed transportation for senior citizens and
those with disabilities.
The area's
corporate and private aircraft are based at either
of two nearby airports, DuPage County Airport
and Aurora Municipal Airport.
Batavia
business and industry are served by more than
20 local, intrastate, and interstate trucking
companies. Spur tracks of the Burlington Northern
Railroad serve firms based in the Batavia Industrial
Park.
Batavia's ideal
location assures continued growth and prosperity.
