    Job Description

    Batavia MainStreet Internship Job Description

    ·         Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
    ·         Outgoing, creative, and an ability to multi-task
    ·         Self-starter and takes initiative on assigned projects
    ·         Ability to work at least10-20 hours a week, there is room for flexibility(weekend and evening meetings and events possible)
    ·         Availability to work Saturdays at the Farmers’ Market 7a-1p
    ·         Ability to lift at least 50lbs
    ·         Proficient communication skills (answering phones/writing emails)
    ·         Must have an interest in project management, event management, public service, downtown revitalization, nonprofit work
    ·         Must have a laptop available for use
    ·         Help plan and execute MainStreet special events, including – Race to Market, Cocktails in the Park, WellBatavia, Farmers’ Market, Block Party “Taste of Batavia”, BatFest, Oktoberfest and more.
    ·         May engage in personal project/work plan to promote the MainStreet mission and/or vision
    ·         Field calls, greet, and treat all visitors and volunteers in a friendly manner
    ·         Post news releases on local media outlets
    ·         Maintain a clean work and office environment, clean office as needed
    ·         Take photographs and video at MainStreet events
    ·         Work with downtown business owners and sponsors
    ·         Assist with organizing Downtown Welcome materials
    ·         Attend designated volunteer meetings, event planning meetings and city council meetings
    Education Requirements
    ·         Must be a high school graduate
    ·         A current college student is preferred
