Farmers’ Market Coordinator
Job Qualifications and Description
¨ Proficiency in Excel, Word and Dropbox
¨ Outgoing, creative, with leadership skills
¨ Available via email and phone to help recruit and retain market vendors for the market season (4 months prior to season start)
¨ Summer Season: Available Saturdays from June to October
¨ Ability to lift 50 lbs.
¨ Preseason – arrange and organize all approved vendors on a street map / location map to ensure all spots are filled and all vendors are in convenient locations for their direct needs.
¨ Key holder for the storage location.
¨ Review/update Farmer’s Market Handbook to include any revised policy, procedure, schedule
¨ Maintain established database of farmers/vendors
¨ Handle additional correspondence between Batavia MainStreet and the farmers/vendors
¨ Be an administrator on the Farmers’ Market Facebook Page to promote market vendors
¨ Recruit new farmers/vendors to fill the available slots at the market
¨ Work with volunteers to insure adequate supervision of the market
¨ Create and/or market new ideas to bring in more customers and vendors
o Restaurant demonstrations
o Cooking demonstrations
o Children’s activities
o Other educational demonstrations
¨ Manage SNAP Machine & processing weekly
¨ Assist with promotions of SNAP program
¨ Mark spaces at the market to insure each vendor is in the correct space
¨ Supervise the set-up and take-down of the market
o Summer Season: 6:30-8:00am and 12:00-1:00pm
¨ Handle issues arising at the market
¨ Summer Season: $100 per market attended
