As part of The Holmstad?s ongoing support for families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer?s disease, the faith-based senior living community is launching an additional support group specifically for those newly diagnosed with the disease. Letters to Myself is a free support group that will meet the fourth Monday of the month at 1:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 25, in the Town Center classroom at The Holmstad, located at 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia. Letters to Myself provides those diagnosed with Alzheimer?s a safe, private place where they can share their thoughts and discuss challenges with others who have the disease. Loved ones or caregivers who provide transportation will be directed to an area with refreshments for waiting. Rachel Lazich, of CovenantCare at Home, will facilitate the group. She has a Master of Science degree from Western Illinois University and a strong background in Alzheimer?s and dementia care. CovenantCare at Home works with hospitals, physicians, and residential care facilities to provide Medicare?certified health care, personal care, and hospice services. Registration is not required. For more information, call Brenda Lowden, RN, at 630-879-4034 or email her at BJLowden@covenantretirement.org. Information about The Holmstad may be found at www.TheHolmstad.org. In addition to Letters to Myself, The Holmstad offers The Holmstad Helping Hearts, a free memory loss support group for caregivers, the first Thursday of the month, 1:30 ? 2:30 p.m. in the Town Center classroom. Registration is not required to attend the support group, but you must reserve a spot for your loved one requiring care by calling Brenda Lowden, RN, at (630) 879-4034 or emailing her at BJLowden@covenantretirement.org. The care is provided free of charge.

I am so thankful that a few of my fellow Batavian’s recommended the Batavia Chamber of Commerce to me. Since I joined I feel as though I have been blessed with a second family with all the support and motivation I get from them on a regular basis. Margaret, Patti and Shirley are the most amazing women. They have great passion for business and helping people. I truly feel they care about my business on a personal level and want to see it grow and succeed as much as I do! They have gone the extra mile to get my name and my business name out there and introduce me to the business community. The Chamber has so many opportunities available that have helped my business both grow and problem solve such as the free monthly Networking It events. I highly recommend the Batavia Chamber of Commerce to all business professionals.
