Water Street Studios’ Dempsey Family Gallery will feature a solo show titled “A Journey of New Beginnings” by Kerri Ann Reavis. A wide range of fine art from Kerri Ann’s collection will be displayed on the first floor of Water Street Studios. Kerri Ann Reavis writes, “Journey with me for the last 5 years of my life in Expressionism. I never knew I would make art a career until the age of 42. It was then that I found my true calling as it brought forth changes inside of me. My life's desire to express myself came easily through my works which created many new beginnings."
Gordon Parker’s exhibition titled, “Seeing Through Masks” will be displayed in the Kane County Chronicle Gallery located on the second floor of Water Street Studios. Gordon Parker’s artwork focuses on the figurative complexity of women. He writes, “I break these complexities into simple yet dramatic lines and colors. The mood of is always calm, confident and full of subliminal feelings, which reproduces the essence and beauty of women. This mood is transferred to the viewer as these feeling resonate a feeling a pride and appreciation. While I use a variety of materials and processes in each project my methodology is consistent. Although there may not always be material similarities between the different projects, they are linked by recurring desire to the idealization of the subject matter. The subject matter of each body of work determines the material and ultimate form of the work. My imagination is always active and drives me towards the next projects theme.
The opening receptions will be held on May 11th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. In addition to viewing the work and meeting the artists who created it, there will also be small selection of appetizers by Gaetano's Batavia, a bar featuring beer from Solemn Oath Brewery and wine. I am so thankful that a few of my fellow Batavian’s recommended the Batavia Chamber of Commerce to me. Since I joined I feel as though I have been blessed with a second family with all the support and motivation I get from them on a regular basis. Margaret, Patti and Shirley are the most amazing women. They have great passion for business and helping people. I truly feel they care about my business on a personal level and want to see it grow and succeed as much as I do! They have gone the extra mile to get my name and my business name out there and introduce me to the business community. The Chamber has so many opportunities available that have helped my business both grow and problem solve such as the free monthly Networking It events. I highly recommend the Batavia Chamber of Commerce to all business professionals.
